The technology itself isn’t the problem as all technology is without morals or consciousness but the way the technology is used by people is and television, in my opinion, has become incredibly dangerous and powerful.
The problems with television starts when it is used to portray one perspective, one ideology or belief system because if anyone is told the same thing over and over again, they will eventually believe it.
This is exactly what our televisions do today. Its a constant propaganda communication device into every home that portrays the modern western world as the right way live our lives. It uses clever logic and reasoning techniques to portray modern society as one with morals, dignity and conscious and any other system or ideology is demonized and portrayed as evil.
Today we have a society of people who live in total ignorance with unquestioning loyalty to the hierarchy as most people have been convinced that this society is GOOD. We’ve been slowly brainwashed into a greed-based consumer society and distracted so much that nobody has the time to question it anymore. It’s almost as if television was introduced at JUST the right time.
A Brave New World & 1984 sound more and more familiar every passing day.
