What is the difference between ipod touch and ipod touch 3d?

For christmas my dad asked me if i wanted a ipod touch and i said sure. So i looked up ipod touch and there was ipod touch 3d. I wanted to know if ipod touch plays games, vidios movies and all that please anwser
