I can I advance my career path while waiting to reappplying to law school?

I was recently academically dismissed from law school this past Spring semester. I had a GPA below 2.0 GPA and I know I definitely need to improve on Legal Writing.

I really wanted to specialize on Intellectual Property law when I was in law school. I would like to know if any one could spare me some advice as to what types of career paths would help to further to get experience in this industry and at the same time help me to re-apply to law school. If it helps to know, I have a B.S. degree in Information Technology, with a major GPA of 3.6. Thanks everyone in advance soo much for your help!!
