Rio de Janeiro is the ultimate tourist attraction throughout the entire year not just because of the nightlife or the beaches but because every single month something interesting and attractive is going on in the city. With November, there is no exception as there are many things a tourist can do in this month; with this article, we will try to emphasize on a few events.

First order of business – 2009 is the “French Year in Brazil” so normally, November will celebrate this event. If you did not know what this celebration is about, FYB started with a show of pyrotechnics from group F on the Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas Lagoon. This month exhibitions, shows, talks & debates and spectacles will be presented. The venue for FYB is Centro Cultural Banco do Brasil – Rua Primeiro de Março, 66 – Centro.

Another important event is Iupac Rio 2009 – “3rd International Workshop on Crop Protection Chemistry in Latin America”. At this event, students and researchers from different areas of the world talk about the most recent discoveries in the biotechnology of agriculture and debates about human protection in relation to agrochemicals. The venue for this event is Firjan – Av. Graça Aranha, 1 – 2º e 4º andares – Centro.

The third most important event in November is the “5th Degusta Rio” – in this event wine distributors, vineyards and cafes owners as well as Carioca restaurant and bars owners take part in talks, workshops and varied gastronomic attractions. The venue for this event is Cais do Porto – Armazém 2 – Av. Rodrigues Alves, s/nº – Centro.

For architects and engineers, this month the “Construct Rio de Janeiro 2009” is being held. At this event, in partnership with the exhibiting companies, there will be quick courses about new products as well as available techniques on the market. The venue for this event is Riocentro – GL Events Centro de Convenções – Av. Salvador Allende, 6.555 – Pavilhões 1, 2, 3 e 4 – Jacarepaguá.

The “International Television Festival 2009” will show original programs, allowing the public a firsthand view of what will be on TV in the following years. The venues for the ITF 2009 are spread through the entire city.

The AAPG (American Association of Oil Geologists) Congress will be held in November at Riocentro – GL Events Centro de Convenções – Av. Salvador Allende, 6.555 – Pavilhões 1, 2, 3 e 4 – Jacarepaguá. The purpose for this congress is to foster scientific research, to advance the science of geology, to inspire high professionalism and to promote technology.

A very important historical event – “Proclamation of the Brazilian Republic” is the place where civil and military ceremonies will commemorate the Declaration of the Brazilian Republic. The venue for this event is Museu da República – Rua do Catete, 153 – Catete.

Our last reviewed event in November is “Brazil Global Energy” which is the most important international energy event in Rio, created for debating issues as well as proposing alternatives in order to show the world, the most modern equipment and solutions for manufacturing, spreading and distributing energy. The venue is Centro de Convenções SulAmérica – Av. Paulo de Frontin, 1 – Cidade Nova.

NTFS, New Technology File System, is a file system used in the modern Windows operating systems. It has got improved performance, more reliable, uses disk space in a better manner than the previous file systems. But still this NTFS file system can get corrupt, which can make the system inaccessible and make the data insecure. * Analyze the Check Event Viewer: By checking the event viewer, you can check the devices whose driver is corrupt or damaged.
* Try to disable any scanning applications: You should check and disable any antivirus, disk defragmenter, backup programs, or any other tool that regularly monitors your system. You can also try to run hardware diagnostics provided by the system provider.
* Run scandisk: You should run scandisk with the chkdsk /r command to repair any file system related structural damage.
* Repair NTFS volume: You should repair the NTFS partition using the following steps: â—¦ Start the system using a Windows 2000 Setup CD.
â—¦ When the ‘Welcome to Setup’ screen is displayed, press the F10 key to start the Recvovery Console.
â—¦ Enter the following command to repair the damaged NTFS partition:
chkdsk driveletter: /p â—¦ Enter ‘Quit’ to exit the Recovery Console.
â—¦ Restart the computer.
However, if the problem is persisting then the use of a third-party NTFS partitoin Recovery software is most recommended. Singapore has also enforced tough measures in reducing corporate tax rates and employers’ Central Provident Funds (CPF) contribution rates, as well as limiting office rental rates, in the hope that all these policies will work in synergy and promote business.

Current Business

Singapore has been ranked as the city with the 2nd best investment potential worldwide, for the past fourteen years. Singapore has five major export markets ranging between S$30bn and S$60bn in value between Malaysia, Hong Kong, Indonesia, China and the US and has a S$500mn research facility that hosts pharmaceutical giants, biotechnology companies and research institutes from all over the world.

Singapore is also the world’s fourth biggest foreign exchange trading centre and a leader in international banking, trade finance, insurance and asset and wealth management services. In this way, companies in Singapore have access to some of the top corporate services worldwide.
