Looking for a Christmas present for my boyfriend of 8 months. He is in his 30’s, and is that guy who “has everything and needs nothing”, and there is NO exaggeration there. Just an idea of what kind of guy he is… he is a Mr. Fix it, so anything that has to do with building, repairs, contracting etc, he has, so the last place to find a gift is Home Depot or Lowes. I dont like gift certificates or clothing, its not personal enough for me. We are both members of our town’s volunteer fire department, hes a chief. He has an Ipod, GPS, Satelite radio, and computer. He loves to spend time with his children (8,10, and 13), so I would kind of like something he can use with his kids. He’s not really into anything in particular (sports, hunting, camping, music etc). I have a few small things to give him already, but I would like a “big” present also. I am creative and crafty, so a homemade gift is fine by me. He would appreciate a homemade gift much more than any store bought gift anyway. ANY ideas are welcome!!

I want to connect one of those USB-based GPS receivers to my laptop, or even use it stand-alone (battery-powered). It has to be accurate (way better than 10 meters or 30 feet accuracy, maybe an accuracy as good as 1 meter or 3 feet, or so). I once saw this documental of a company that takes satellite pictures on request, you go to their site, type in the coordinates of the place you want the picture taken and they give you a time and date when the satellite will take the picture in case you want to appear.
They charge you depending on the quality and resolution of the picture. This company was shown on a documentary by History Channel.
