My mom just got a new cellphone so she gave me her chocolate phone today and she has her phone program already but my cellphone number hasnt transfer to the chocolate phone yet. How long does it take to transfer or can i go to Verizon store and get it transfer without my mom, she the account holder

I have a new laptop after my other one broke. The only place for my music now is on my ipod as my old itunes is unavailable. When i downloaded itunes for my new laptop i tried to sync my ipod but was unable to as it was already synced to the itunes on my old laptop. I was wondering if there was anyway to get the music from my ipod to my new itunes without losing all of the music as my new itunes wants to erase my ipod.
