Institute of Technology or University?

I was doing some planning and I have two options after getting my associates from a community college. I was wondering if anyone knew what looks better to an employer.. A Bachelors of Science degree from a state Institute of Technology or a state University… I’m not really sure which road to take i really like the idea of smaller classes at the Institute of Tech but I’m not willing to jepordize it for something that could hurt me in the long run (if in fact a University is better)… any advice, info, expieriance, please feel free
