Desktop Computers Vs Laptops

What you want to so with your computer will very much influence which kind you will buy. There is the laptop which you can take anywhere, or the big desktop variety which needs to stay put. Take usage etc into consideration before parting with your hard earned cash.

Both of these machines have certain limitations, and deciding on what your main usage will be will make your decision a lot easier.

In my personal opinion, the laptop is one of the greatest inventions of our time. They are light, portable, have everything that a computer does but without the inconvenience of always being stuck at a desk in the same place using it.

A desktop is big, bulky and takes up a helluva lot of space. A laptop is slim, compact and can be taken anywhere with you. This allows you to work anywhere and is the ultimate flexible business machine.

Some people who want to have a home office think that the obvious choice is a desktop; this is not the case at all. When you are in the office just use your laptop in there, keeping it plugged into the mains. It’s incredibly easy to attach a printer laptop too, or use one of the new wireless printers where you don’t even have to be in the same room.

Another major advantage that laptops have over a desktop is that they have a wireless Internet capability. This is a great feature; wherever you are with your laptop you switch it on and it will pick up any internet connection in the area and you won’t pay a penny.

One of the big disadvantages of desktops is the fact you have to pay for your own internet through a service provider. These will happily take your money every month but there is no guarantee regarding the stability or the speed of your connection.

So, we have portability, free internet and also the fact that Laptops are constantly dropping in price. In short; there really is no reason at all to choose a desktop over a laptop. I hope I have helped you make an informed decision.
