How can I get my PS3 to access the network while I’m utilizing the SkyDsl satellite internet connection?

I live in Italy and have to use a satellite internet connection through the SKYDsl service. I cannot seem to be able to get my connection test to work wireless and when I try to change to wired connection it looks like its about to bring up the next menu but nothing happens.
