After much anticipation, Apple has finally released their newest gadget – the Apple iPad. It is basically a larger version of the iPod touch that will undoubtedly alter the way we look at media and the internet from this day forward.
The Apple iPad has a good number of excellent features which make the Apple iPad an almost necessary device. The iPad itself is only 1.3 inches thick, basically has a letter size(8-1/2 x 11) display, and only weighs about 1.45 pounds. Just like its smaller counterparts, the iPhone and iPod, the screen is very clear, using touch screen technology, and there are no buttons that take away from the display whatsoever. The Apple processor is built into the iPad, and it can store data in 16GB, 32GB or 64GB customizations. The battery is built in to the unit, and last about 10 hours – you can also access the internet through any WLAN network.
Depending on your storage needs and other features, the iPad carries a price tag between $499-$699, and for another $129, you can add data transmission features over a mobile line as well. This is a far cry from the $999 price tag Apple had originally intended for this unit.
Along with the release of the unit, in select areas of the USA, Apple and other consumer research groups have teamed up to have test panels to evaluate the new device.
