Is Article Writing Software A Good Idea For Someone Just Starting Out?

Whether you’re new to internet marketing or have “been around the block a time or two,” looking for shortcuts is something we all do. And as long as quality doesn’t suffer, shortcuts are usually a good thing. You can get more done in less time and still have some hours left in the day for yourself or your family.

So when someone new to article marketing asks whether article writing software is a good idea or not — even though I have very strong feelings on the subject, I don’t think any less of them for asking. It’s only by looking at the people who have gone before us that we’re able to avoid some big potholes.

Usually there are two different things people mean when they’re talking about article writing software:

1. Software that actually writes the text of the article by itself.

2. Software that helps guide YOU in writing the article.

I’ll admit it would be nice if we could click a button and a good quality article would pop out, but that’s still the work of science fiction. There are programs out there that claim to write articles for you, but what you get is either garbage that’s not fit to post online, let alone read, or you get an article that reads well because it was copied from sources online.

And unless those sources are in the public domain you’re talking about copyright violations. Building your business on trash or plagiarism isn’t going to win you any fans and could put you neck-deep in hot water with the Feds. It’s my opinion that any software that claims to generate articles should be avoided because it will turn out to be much more trouble than it’s worth.

The other kind of software is that which helps you research, write, submit, and organize your articles. While it won’t magically write an article for you, it can guide you through the process and help keep your article marketing efforts on track.

Researching your topic, creating an outline or points to cover, being able to keep track of which article directories have been submitted to, which articles have been used as blog posts, etc., will go a long way towards making article marketing more efficient.

Don’t fall for the false claims that some article writing software makes. And while you don’t have to have anything other than a word processor to make article marketing work, if you’d like something to help with the process there are programs available.

Just make sure that any shortcut you take isn’t leading you into quicksand.
