When getting a new cellphone, is there a way to transfer all of your text messages&pictures to the new phone?

I am getting the MotoSLVR, and I have a bunch of cute little text messages and poems with pictures that my boyfriend sent me. I know it sounds corny but I want to transfer them to my new phone, but my current cellphone does not have a memory card or anything….
