Main issue here is setting up for timed recordings; in other words, taping programs (including programs on different channels) without the user intervention (aside from setting up the programming of the VCR timer).
It doesn’t sound like this is possible. Most of the Satellite TV-to-VCR questions appear to be related to real-time taping, where the user presses the record button on the VCR to tape the immediate broadcast.
Also, the question pertains only to VCR recording, not the built-in DVR recording which is provided with some services.
