We run an international volunteer organisation (www.uvolunteer.org) sending individuals and groups to the developing world to teach and aid development through a transfer of skills and expertise. We do so by partnering with local NGOs and grass root projects that will benefit from direct volunteer resource.
IT (computer training, specially the internet ) is a key area in which we see the gap between the haves and have nots being reduced. So we try when ever possible to send IT professionals to teach basic computing in locations around the world.
We currently are working with an NGO, a Liberian refugee camp, in Ghana which has managed to secure computer equipment (20 computers and 3 printers) from an organisation in Spain. They intend to open a computer training centre on the refugee camp and we intend to send our volunteers to teach with these machines.
