Kodak have recently announced the release of two new versions of their Capture Pro Software, which will further enhance and expand their Capture Pro Software portfolio. This software allows business professionals to quickly manage scanned documents and digital files and is expected to be available by the end of April 2010.
The new release KODAK Capture Pro Software, v 2.5 focuses on making document and data capture easier, more accurate, efficient and affordable by providing new functionality. This updated software is aimed at benefiting a variety of applications for digitising paper-driven tasks, including accounts receivable, claims processing, backfile conversions and many others.
Their second release introduces the KODAK Capture Pro Software Auto Import Edition. This is an all-new separate software product, without the need for any direct scanner attachment, it provides an ideal solution for unattended monitoring and importing of document images and information into a business application.
The benefit of a dedicated import edition means that regardless of the source of the original image, which could include fax, email, multi-functional peripherals (MFPs), image repositories and specialty scanners amongst others, the software will enable you to perform the same powerful image processing, indexing and output functions as the existing Capture Pro Software for document scanners.
With the advent of this new Auto Import Edition customers are now able to output their imported documents in the same way as they currently can utilising the Capture Pro Software with dedicated document scanners.  The advantages of the Auto Import Edition includes providing customers with a consistent overall capture operation which in turn protects their investment in decentralised capture devices and lowers the cost of implementation.
The capabilities of the new Capture Pro Software, v 2.5 are aimed at improving the versatility of importing files. Auto import allows you to import existing PDF files and to preserve the imported file name for indexing and more automated document separation logic, improving overall speed and accuracy.
The key driving factors behind this series of improvements including the introduction of a new indexing application programming interface (API) for custom data validation and the ability to use the last entered value for manual indexing in addition to the already existing capability for automated indexing, is to increase date integrity and reduce manual date entry.
For most companies it is vital that a full audit trail can be produced and v2.5 with its expanded image stamping provides full control over variable and fixed data that can be digitally embedded as part of the physical image. As an example you can display key document metadata that may not be present on every individual page of the original document.
To make Capture Pro Software, v2.5 part of a custom workflow, the greatly enhanced capability to automatically start a custom process when output processing has been finalised gives even more options for customers to create a powerful front-end to auditing, validation or any other business process.
With the all-new Auto Import Edition it gives environments without an attached scanner to have a dedicated capture platform. The program allows a business to organise images and files from multiple, shared locations by utilising features from Capture Pro Software. These imaging capabilities run unattended; giving users automated indexing, importing and outputting content and data found in networked folders that originated from fax, e-mail, MFPs and other sources.
