Your Options In Garage Security

The first thing people think of when they are looking at their home and business security is the entrances and exits. This unfortunately does not tend to include garage security, but it should for many reasons. Even if you are covered by insurance and whether you do or do not store a car in there, some things that you may receive payout for are irreplaceable and you still lose money when you think of the time you need to spend cleaning up the aftermath. There is also the fact that when ever a claim is made you are paying it back each month when the premiums increase.

What you will need to think about is whether the amount you pay on insurance is really worth the inconvenience of having to make a claim in the first place or whether prevention is really better than the latter.

If you’re one of the absent minded people then you will definitely benefit from installing door sensors. Their purpose is to let you know by visual audio or both that you have forgotten to make sure that the garage door is correctly closed. Even f the door looks closed, all it takes is for someone to try it to realise otherwise. This will then mean that you have become victim to yet another crime and once it has happened there is little you can do about it.

You don’t have to manually close the garage door when you can use a remote control. This allows you convenience and means that even if the weather is bad or there are other distractions, on conjunction with an alarm system they will make it easier to get in your home fast but give you the fast easy protection you need.

Many feel that by putting a lock in the centre of the garage will stop people from getting in. There is a way that many criminals get around this and that is to prise each corner using a crowbar. The best way to overcome this is to either fit 3 locks to the bottom or to save time but still make sure you are safe have a stronger door that when closed goes down into the ground so that it cannot be prised open.

If you want extra convenience get a door that does not need to be pulled up or to the sides potentially causing possible injury if the mechanism weakens over time. Why not use the roller doors that give you more room and safety as well as being made from a thicker metal and go well into the ground preventing them from being crow barred open when shut.

As you may know some of the garages are made into an extra room or rather than being a home for your cars may be used to store things such as bikes or tools. They can be extremely expensive and if they are imperative to your trade you will want to make sure that not only the main door or doors are protected but also any windows. Take a look at the window sensors and window bars that can mean any possible entrances are covered.
